West End Young Professionals - Location
Our West End Young Professionals course is based at the stunning Tonbridge School in Kent where our applicants will board for the duration of the course. The West End training is split between the school and going into London where we will be working in top West End studios Pineapple Dance Studios and Danceworks, putting your child in the heart of the West End for the training but with all the comforts and facilities of this award-winning school for their accommodation.
History Of Tonbridge School
Tonbridge School was first established in 1553 by Sir Andrew Judde and King Edward VI. Today, Tonbridge is one of most highly-regarded and exclusive boarding schools in the country, and forms part of the ‘Eton Group’ of schools.
For the first few hundred years of the school’s existence, Tonbridge kept the number of its students below 100. Then, in the 19th century, the school undertook a large expansion and quadrupled its capacity. The school now boasts an array of high-quality facilities with its 150 acre site, including modern classrooms, a recently refurbished library, a large chapel, lecture theatres and an excellent sports centre – equipped with a swimming pool, sports hall, tennis courts, athletics track and extensive playing fields.
Location
Situated just to the north of Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge School is located on the edge of the quaint market town Tonbridge, less than an hour’s drive from London. Whilst here you can explore Tonbridge’s selection of shops and cafés, or relax by the River Medway that runs through its centre. Our theatre training takes place both at Tonbridge and at top West End rehearsal venues in London such as Pineapple Dance Studios and Danceworks, giving you a real taste of the West End!
Accommodation
Accommodation is provided in single or twin bedrooms with separate male and female accommodation and bathrooms are shared between 4-6 students. Laundry is available onsite and free of charge.
Students take residence in one of the school’s boarding houses, equipped with a games room, cinema room and social areas.
Bucksmore also offers a complimentary airport transfer service to students arriving at Heathrow and Gatwick airports, for all flights arriving/departing between 10:00 and 22:00.
Safety
Our residential centre management team and counsellors provide pastoral care and support to students. The boarding houses are locked electronically with a secure code.
